PLEASE HELP my fit died at 15,xxx miles

so, i have a 2011 honda fit base model 5spd with 15,xxx miles. only mod is a diy intake. i was running late for work so i was driving aggressively. i cam from a stop to the freeway going through gears 1st-5th, as soon as i put it in 5th at 80mph, my car starts sputtering, losing power and wouldnt move. I pull over, turn the car off... waited about 5 minutes started it back up and it drove no problem by now my check engine light is on, what could this be?

Put the stock airbox back on and take that thing in. You don't want that happening to a car with 15K miles without knowing exactly what happened. I definitely wouldn't run that DIY intake anymore, but that is just me.

i cant use the stock intake anymore... the diy intake requires hacking up the stock one

    Damn, sorry to hear. :(

If you hacked up the stock box, I'd order a new replacement and install it prior to taking it in.

Since you messed with the intake, are the electrical connections to any of the air-metering components tight and not wet? Also check any fittings you have disturbed for leaks or misalignment.

Where the hell do you work that one tardy will get you fired? Especially for a legit reason.

Get a new airbox, take it in, you should still be under warranty unless the car has been voided by some other means/savaged.
