    New Car

Ding, dong, the Vue is dead.

Picked up a 2011 Toyota Corolla S. Mark my words: I will never buy another domestic vehicle again. You heard it here first.

Its fine, I wanted the warranty and the 0.9% financing. The dealership I bought at has their own lifetime drivetrain warranty, too, not that I'll ever need it... its a freekin' Corolla. DD forever!

I kid you not, one of my aunt's family literally never does any maintenance on their car - the tires get air, if they're lucky , but certainly no oil-changes or any other kind of preventative maintenance. I seriously don't think they even add washer fluid.

Their 90-something Corolla lasted well into the decade-plus range, logging close to 200K miles, before it just died.

They were more than happy with it.

    200K on no oil changes?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Actually I remember when I saw a BMW broken down that had 80k miles on 1 fluid change. It was pretty eye opening.

Yep. The car just up and died one day.

For this family, though, they treated their cars as disposable objects. Use them until they die, then buy another.

I'm really just enjoying the shit out of the car. A few truths:

    Every car should have bluetooth.
    Moon roofs are amazeballs.
The range on the lock/unlock on the key fob is amazeballs.
Gas mileage on the first tank was 30 MPG dead nuts. Daddy like.
It has a pleasant amount of pep for that gas mileage. 140 HP isn't going to set the world on fire but for a DD I'll take it.
Materials on the interior have come a long way for the Corolla.

    I dig it!
