After a bunch of goofballs called about it, and some came looking at it and fearing they'd total the thing within a week after buying it due to questions like "Is that a stock intercooler," I took it off the market. That car and I have been through too much for me to just sell it to some random idiot who will try to floor it on a residential street, lose control and hit something. Only one person who contacted me who knew how highly modded turbo cars behave was the guy who wanted to trade me his GSX below.

He and I were going to meet up on a Friday...on Wednesday he called me and said he just hit a deer with it and fucked up the entire front end. He rarely takes that car out but did that day and hits a deer with it. Needless to say that trade never formulated.

This was an SCCA sponsored PDX (performance driving experience). The focus is on teaching and having fun. If you learn proper braking, turn in, apex and exit the speed will come naturally. You get classroom time as well as in car, ride along instructors. There is no passing in the corners. Participants are allowed to pass in two designated zones and only after they are waived through by the driver in front. In the "Instructors" group, which I was part of, there is a third passing zone but the rules are generally less enforced for that group and it was fairly close to a free for all with several cars going off track in each of the later sessions. Happily, the Evo X pictured stayed where it was supposed to and after a few adjustments subsequent to the first run, was only passed by one full blown race version of a Ferrari 430 in the remaining 3 sessions.

There is another PDX at Mid-Ohio on September 2, 2011. I will be down there again, instructing. All you need is a Snell 2000 or better helmet, many loaners are available free of charge. The cost is $210 for SCCA members and $225 for non members which includes a $15, one day membership. This is for a minimum of 4, 20 minute sessions. You will be plenty tired after this. If you want to come down and spectate, I believe that is free of charge.

They also have available a ride along program for anyone not registered for the event where if you pay $25 you can ride along with instructors as many rides as you can line up. Great way to convince your significant other this would be a fun day for them too. Instructors are allowed to go out in any group currently on the track if giving ride alongs.

Let me know if you'er interested and I can help you get signed up. If there is a lot of interest I'll start a new thread.
