It's time for a new clutch upgrade and I'm currently looking at the following combos. Any recommendation appreciated. Thanks

ACT HD w/Streetlite flywheel
Exedy Stage 1 w/Streetlite flywheel

You know, I spoke to Buschur Racing regarding Exedy versus ACT, they thought the ACT was sh*t. Of course Buschur Racing is known to be the most humble and non opinionated in the world.

It seems like general opinion is that the Exedy equivalent is superior in quality in terms of wear resistance and life. There doesn't seem like there is concrete proof of this like some sort of actually engineering test.

I am sure that many people have ACT clutches and will tell you no problems. And ACT setup will be cheaper.

The ACT is great if you shift like an old lady, otherwise, not so much.

What are you going to be doing with the car? Drag race? Auto X? Street driving only? That would definatly sway my decision as to what clutch I'd go with. Also, WRX or STi?

Winston, i you're going to keep DD'ing the STi, get the Stage 1. Heavier clutch feel and pressure plate but not enough to make you work too hard, you army boy.

I almost went for Stage 1 myself :0

^^ As much as that plays into the equation, ultimately, if he's driving it as a DD (which he is), he should get the clutch that makes him comfortable when DD-ing. But yes, Winston you said you'd be autox-ing but you've never shown up! :p
